Just Words to Light the Way

Lower your gaze, drop your eyes, stop with the false pretenses.  When you tell me you love me, you damn well better mean it.  I’m tired of the ghosts; I’m tired of the tales you spin me like we’re sitting around a fire.  I want the truth.

Stop telling me you’ll love me forever when you can’t even dial my number or say my name.  I’m just a memory you can’t spit out fast enough.
